I-81 Viaduct Project Virtual Public Hearings
The New York State Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration are holding both virtual and in-person public hearings on the I-81 Viaduct Project Draft Design Report/Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DDR/DEIS) and the project’s New York Eminent Domain Procedure Law. The Virtual Hearing will take place on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 starting with a pre-recorded presentation at 11:00 AM and repeated at 5:00 PM.

The purpose of the I-81 Viaduct Project is to address structural deficiencies and non-standard highway features while creating an improved transportation corridor through the City of Syracuse that meets the transportation needs and provides the infrastructure to support long-range transportation planning efforts. The DDR/DEIS describes the Project; the consideration of social, economic, and environmental effects that would result from implementation; and measures to mitigate adverse effects.

The DEIS may be read at the project website and at libraries and town halls throughout metropolitan Syracuse. For more information on the project, including where to read the DEIS and how to comment, visit the project website: https://www.dot.ny.gov/i81opportunities

The virtual hearing will be conducted in English and an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter will be provided. Un intérprete de español estará presente [a Spanish-language interpreter will be present]. If any other accommodation is needed to facilitate participation in the public hearings, please contact Curtis Jetter at (315) 428-4351 by August 3, 2021.

Aug 17, 2021 11:00 AM in Eastern Time (US and Canada)
